Franca Franchi
After more than twenty years of lawyer career, Franca Franchi is reaching out to art; not through an academic path. She has been motivated by events of her life, which let to a creative process as an essential and unavoidable moment of human and spiritual growth. She realizes sculpture using glass, mirror and crystal, sometimes steel, unique pieces that, sometimes, become objects like lamps (illuminated sculptures), tables (sculptures to live) or jewels (sculpture to wear) using recycled material. Her artistic philosophy connects to Zen art in our contemporary world.
"In the artworks of Franca Franchi we can see basic concepts such as: symmetry and dissymetry, light and darkness, empty and full, concepts that are approached in a sense by helping to create the work in itself. Enlighting and bringing into darkness is the paradigmatic beginning of the work of art, taking positive and negative characteristics at the same time, same features which are part of the Zen aesthetics."
